January 31, 2005the Jayne Mansfield StoryTonight I watched the Jayne Mansfield Story (1980), which none of you are ever likely to be able to see unless you rent it from Kensington Video where I did. It was a made for TV movie starring Lonnie Anderson as Jayne Mansfield and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mickey Hargitay. You can guess why I rented it. It was actually pretty interesting though. It's the only movie I've seen where Arnold isn't Arnold, but just a regular guy. Don't get me wrong, I never fell into Arnold's role. He didn't pull a Jaime fox in Ray, but all in all it was interesting to see him be someone who wasn't blowing up commies for justice. Believe it or not, Lonnie Anderson's boobs are actually overshadowed by her acting. All in all, the movie wasn't half bad. I give it a B.
